A Charity for Older People Living Locally
We provide a range of support services and activities for older people designed to help them continue to live independent, active and fulfilling lives. We offer social groups where people can get together such as the film club, walks in the local parks, exercise classes, day trips and the weekly lunch club. We also provide support services such as help with gardening, telephone and in person befriending services.
We rely on public and private donations. We receive grant funding from a number of sponsors including Manchester City Council, Greggs, National Lottery, The Coop, Withington Civic Society, Southway Housing Trust and the Duchy of Lancaster. We receive donations for our activities and rely on the generousity of our community.
We have over 200 services users from the Withington community. People hear about our services through a variety of ways whether referred by a social worker or health care profession, finding us through the Withington Methodist Church or via a friend or relative.
Assist relies on the time given freely by the trustees to ensure that the charity is properly managed. We have a small and dedicated team and welcome interest from others who want to get involved in governance activities. Please get in touch via firstname.lastname@example.org.
We cannot run our services without the valued help of our volunteers. People of all ages and backgrounds support us in providing a range of services. If you are interested please get in touch via email@example.com or download the form on the Volunteers page and drop it into us at Withington Methodist Church. We’d love to hear from you.
