Our weekly Tuesday Lunch Club provides a freshly homecooked, two course meal and a great place for people to socialise and make new friends.
These classes are provided by specialist, NHS trained instructors and as well as being great fun, are designed to give participants a thorough workout to improve mobility, strength and flexibility. There are two classes:
The 10:30 am chair assisted class is for people who are mobile. Accompanied by uplifting music, this class provides a good all round work out.
The 11:30 am class based class is for people who may have mobility problems and are unable to stand for long periods. As well as helping with strength and mobility, the class is fun and a great way to meet new people.
Every third Monday we also have a film club showing the latest movies as well as classics. During the interval we serve popcorn and ice cream.
We hold 'Tea and Talks,' with a speaker and light refreshments kindly donated by the local Co-op. Past speakers include a wildlife photographer on birds and butterflies of Manchester, slides of BelleVue Circus and a film maker's travels in Tibet!
At the Digital Drop In people can get advice on how to do things online whether it is buying train tickets, doing the weekly shop or sending and receiving emails.
We organise regular visits to the RNCM to see lunchtime concerts. The trips are free and usually involve a lunch followed by a concert. The RNCM kindly allow us to book accessible seats and reserve an accessible table in the canteen. These trips are very popular and recommended for music lovers.
We organise regular day trips. Over recent years we have visited many places including Buxton, Llandudno, The Bourne Poacher, St Annes, Chester Zoo and Trentham Gardens. We have volunteers who can help wheelchair users and help everyone have an enjoyable day out.
