COVID19 Update: Due to the pandemic we are running adapted versions of our usual social groups. Volunteers are continuing to support older people living locally with telephone befriending, shopping and prescription collection and over the phone digital support. For the moment our Tuesday Lunch Club is currently operating as a delivery service, we have Tai Chi (Wednesday) and Chair Based Exercise (Friday) sessions on Zoom, Positive Living group continue to meet monthly in parks, and we have a monthly Tea and Talks session on Zoom with tea and cakes delivered by the local Co op... We are also arranging small groups to meet in parks and local cafes outside- as the weather permits. To join in or to make a referral, please call the office 0161 434 9216.
Assist Neighbourhood Care is a community and voluntary organisation based in Withington, South Manchester. Our priorities are to reduce social isolation in the community, provide volunteering opportunities and enable people to continue living independently.
Running since 1969 we have helped hundreds of older people living locally through befriending, attending social activities and support services.
Donations, however small, are always welcome.
